Varit Kansai Kobe July 17

Next on our list of Japan tour dates we hit the Varit Live Act Bar in Kobe. Kobe is in the Kansai Region, which is pretty much where the whole civilzation got it’s start. Kobe itself is relatively new, having been found on April 1 (my Birthday!), 1889 (not my birth year). What comes to mind when I hear Kansai is  Iron Chef, and how tought the Kansai chefs always were. AndI reckon I have heard of Kobe beef, so I am expecting some good food on this leg of the trip. I believe they are still recovering from an earthquake in the 90’s, but I may have that confused.

Varit looks like another fantastic stage, and there are many impressive videos and and pictorials of awesome bands playing there.The theme for the night is “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window”, and in addition to Lick Lick there will be these other awesome bands.

Hystoic Vein are like taking a trip back to 1995 or so — big rock with some other elements thrown in. Check out the video on their myspace – they are very glam! (too bad the spiders aren’t going with us).

Moga Hoop has a great blog and other stuff on their web-site and i found some great footage of them playing at varit. This band is seriously fun.

Peck You!! is also on the bill and he appears to be in the singer/songwriter realm, and the reviews I have seen hold him in high regard. [Edit -- I found some footage of peck you!! at Varit, and he is hardly just singer/songwriter - super fun - check it out:]
