SXSW is a festival and we love it …

though many Austinites dread it. We all stay very busy and have the benefit of bicycles, back lines, and homes close to downtown. We love to welcome folks from distant places and watch as they harbor thoughts of moving here that are wholly based on the deceptively balmy  weather of mid-March. Those with the ways and means to stay on after the festival are gone by the end of June when temps reach 100 for the first time and stay that way through September. We also enjoy interacting with pushy people and then watching them try to hail cabs.

We’re coming to Houston…

This is an awesome, friendly bill of three Austin bands with a few true Houstonians in their line-ups. Pallit starts it off with Lick Lick up next and Hug pulling out the big guns after that. If you like pudding and porn, you’ll love Hug!

Show Me State

I can’t tell if I can feel it.

Don’t want to make a big ordeal but,

you can touch it if you really need to to heal it.

It may seem a bit surreal but,

I think we’ve got a deal.

I can’t tell if I can feel it, but maybe if you wiggle it.

That very well could be what makes me squeal but,

I can’t quite assure you.

Show me yours, I’ll show you mine.

Show me yours, and then I’ll show you mine.

I went to see the doctor, she said nothing’s wrong.

But maybe you could look at it, it won’t take long.

You don’t have to worry I won’t tell your mom.

Ok, so you can poke at it, but just today.

Just so that your trying to make it go away.

This numbness is a pain that leaves me in a haze.

Show me yours. I’ll show you mine. Show me yours!

Touch it please. Wiggle it. Show me please!

You show me yours, I’ll show you mine.                                   (anhedonia chorus)

You touch me there, I may be fine.

I’ll look at yours, you look at mine.

You show me yours, I’ll show you mine.

Just to look won’t cross the line.

Examine yours, examine mine.

You show me yours, I’ll show you mine.

Your help is oh-so-very kind.

I’ll show you yours, you show me mine.

You show me yours, I’ll show you mine.

Don’t worry you will not go blind.

You show me yours, I’ll show you mine.

Well, you can touch if you really need to, to heal it.

It still seems a bit surreal but, I think we’ve got a deal!

(anhedonia chorus)

Money Murder Sleep

Well, when I think I’m laughing

they say that I’m crying

but I know I’m not.

And thinking that I’m playing,

but seeming like I’m fighting;

I guess that hurts a lot.

I thought I asked real nicely,

but it came out icily,

meaner than I thought.

So, then I go a’whispering

but seeing that they’re covering

you’d think I fired a shot!

They say that there’s something wrong,

They feelthat I don’t belong.

Guess I work at the extremes.

Try to fit in but it seems …

…that my gauge is broken

and all the words are spoken,

like ‘em all or not.

I try to bow out gracefully,

plan it all so carefully

but it’s all for naught.

Everything I say is wrong.

It’s clear to me I don’t belong.

Or maybe I’m just too headstrong.

The friends I do have just play along?

I sense my foot is tapping

but then I end up thrashing

like a rabbit caught.

And,  thinking that I’m blending

I up up condescending,

intending to or not.

Thus, when I get to thinking,

shrinking and rethinking,

I come up with squat.

I sometimes see my options

as murdering or sleeping.

If they only paid a lot!
